We work to get the facts right. We know we will sometimes fall short — founding dates are disputed, grand lodge websites change, recognition statuses are updated, and some jurisdictions have sparse reliable documentation in English. If you have found an error or have information that would improve a page, we want to hear from you.
What We're Looking For
Factual corrections — a founding year is wrong, a website URL has changed, a grand lodge name has been updated, a recognition status has changed, a historical claim is inaccurate.
Missing information — a relevant fact about a jurisdiction that is absent from the page and can be verified from a primary source.
Outdated information — content that was accurate when written but is no longer current (leadership references, defunct websites, organizational changes).
Recognition status updates — if UGLE's recognition list or a major inter-jurisdictional recognition agreement has changed in a way that affects a page.
What to Include
The more specific you can be, the faster we can act on it. Helpful submissions include:
- The page the correction applies to
- What is currently stated on the page
- What the correct information is
- A source that supports the correction (a link to the grand lodge's official website, the UGLE recognition list, a dated announcement, or a similar primary or authoritative source)
We cannot apply corrections based on personal knowledge alone, however credible the source. A submission without a verifiable reference goes into a research queue rather than directly to the page. Submitting a source dramatically speeds up the process.
What We Do Not Accept
- Requests to cover unrecognized or irregular Masonic bodies
- Requests to remove coverage of a recognized grand lodge
- Additions that cannot be verified from a primary source
- Submissions that contain personal identifying information about individual Masons or lodge members
Submit Your Correction
What Happens Next
Every submission is read. Corrections supported by a primary source are reviewed against the existing sourcing on the page and applied when verified. You will receive a brief acknowledgment if you provided an email address.
We do not publish submitted corrections verbatim, and we do not credit individual contributors by name without their explicit permission. If you have provided significant research that meaningfully improves a page, we will ask whether you would like to be acknowledged in the Sources & References block.
